To take advantage of stunning surroundings and views of the local ski slope, we developed their space from the inside out. Fitting three compact bedrooms upstairs, we were able to orient all living spaces on the main floor to maximize views and light. Today, even as the forested setting changes through the seasons, natural light streams in from all directions.

Because a developer owned the lot, our team had to reconcile a detailed set of design guidelines with the client’s aspirations for a clean and contemporary esthetic. The project also had a strict budget. So, our design incorporated easy-to-build, simple structural spans and forms, which allowed the owners to take on a portion of the construction themselves. In the end, the family loved the finished home and the project came in right on budget.
